Pregnancy is such a precious time. There are only a few months in your life, per baby, that you’ll have that sweet bump. Before you know it, the birth is over, they’ll be at school, or having their own kids, just like your parents will tell you. And those short moments of pregnancy will be but a distant memory. I don’t know anyone who has regretted getting a pregnancy photo shoot – but I know plenty who regret not doing it.
I know sometimes we feel  “Save the Whales” is about to start fundraising for us during pregnancy (I know I did), but rest assured I know how to capture that beautiful glowing you, no whales in sight! One day when our kiddos are grown we will look back and thank our body for growing and nurturing their sweet souls.

A new baby brings many changes. Life as you know it will never be the same. So, take some time to capture the way things are right now. It’s probably been a while since you had any family photos taken. This is the perfect opportunity to get up-to-date images of your family before it is altered.
If you have other children, let them be part of the fun. They may be excited or struggling with the idea of a new addition to the family. During a maternity session, I like to make older siblings feel special. Have the focus be on them for a few moments. I also encourage them to interact with the baby.

By the way, there is no rule that says you have to go somewhere for your maternity session. Why not let the photographer come to you for a more “lifestyle” approach? You can achieve beautiful maternity photography in your home environment.
