Elaine and Alex met at a camp and continued to see each other at their church’s youth group. Both are outdoor lovers, so holding their reception in the beautiful surroundings of the Waimak River was a no-brainer.
Alex proposed at Cracroft reserve, on a lookout over Christchurch City – on a very rainy day. Elaine had known for a couple of months the proposal was going to happen, but Alex booked Elaine out for 6 weekend nights in a row so it would be a surprise… He proposed on the first night.
Elaine has an event management degree so she did a lot of the logistical planning for the wedding. The most important thing for both was making sure their loved ones were there and that their relationship didn’t become centered around planning. Elaine surprised herself in her choice of dress, but as you can see, she looked stunning. Plus it had pockets!
Both said they were looking forward to their first kiss, saying vows, walk down the aisle, and finally being married.
Their wedding day promised rain and shine and whilst the clouds threatened to spill over now and then, the rain held off and it turned into a stunner of a day overall. A beautiful wedding that I was honored to be part of.
